dry aging beef

I caught the tail end of a segment on dry aging a whole prime rib on a tv show recently and would like to know more. I don't know what show I was watching so I'm just looking for information from anybody that has experience with this. The only thing I caught from the tv show was putting the prime rib uncovered in the refrigerator for several days...Thanks, Tommy.
