I grew up in New York City and frequently ate lunch at Schraffts Restaurants. They baked a large (about 3 inch diameter) sugar cookie with a lemon flavor which I truly loved. The cookie was crisp rather than soft--which makes me think -- butter--or even --sour cream-- but did not have the brown edge which lemon thins have. It was simply a large, crispy more than chewy, sugare cookie with a lemony flavor.
I have tried typing "sugar cookies" and "lemon cookies" in so many recipe site that I've lost count. "Butter cookies" yields so many returns that I can't begin to know where to start.
Can anyone give me a clue as to which keywords I could try? I'm in both a cookie baking and nostalgic frame of mind! Thanks.
