have you ever braised beef short ribs?

Hi everyone!
I am doing a class on combo cooking highlighting beef. Many recipes out there for Braised Short Ribs. I have never made braised short ribs. Recipes call for anywhere from 2 hours to 8 hours of braising time. Has anyone ever prepared this and how long did it take you after you initially browned the ribs and made the sauce? 2-3 hours is doable, but more than that we do not have enough time. Since we have 2 days back to back, as long as it is cooked through, we can cool it off and refrigerate, then warm it back up the next day. I have made many braised beefs, brisket, chuck roast, fricasses, and the like.But never short ribs.
Any information would be welcome.
